What We Think
We have visited The Old Cinema Tavern several times and have always enjoyed our experience. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, and the service is relatively quick, even during busy times when the restaurant is full.
Remember that this is a family-run business, and they can get overwhelmed during peak hours. If this happens, order more house wine, relax, and enjoy the charming atmosphere. Rest assured, you won’t leave hungry!

When the waiter will bring you the main dish, it will be brought with Tzatziki and Olives.
Beware of the olives, they are the ones not eaten by the previous clients. We had the disturbing experience to find 4 olives already eaten in ours.
Don’t count on getting a sorry from the loud waiter or a commercial gesture from the impolite woman behind the counter.

An hour and a half wait to be able to eat, high season is fine but perhaps in this period hiring a couple of helpers wouldn't be a bad idea. In addition to the waiting staff who were grumpy and clearly tired. Large portions but the quality of the food average. Fair prices if it weren't for the service.
There were 3 of us for dinner. We had meat, which was good, the mussaka much less so. We've had better elsewhere. Average price

The food is very good and the meat is excellent. The plates are large, I saw all the tables around me left over food, but they have boxes to take away in case there is a lot left over.
They also offered me a small plate of melon to digest, for everything you eat the prices are honest (a few euros higher than the menu found on Google).

The service sucks! Aggressive staff ( one of the two people) was literally throwing the plates on the tables, after one hour and twenty minutes they didn't even serve us at least water, the food never arrived so we left after waiting for soooo long ,with our friends and infant to seek for other place to eat. When the people at the table in front of us left , the waitress came over to that table TOOK THE LEFTOVER MEAT FROM THE TABLE AND HEADED TO THE KITCHEN. I am sure you can all imagine what they did with the LEFTOVERS since the didn't clean the rest of that table for another half an hour. So if you want to be super late to be served and eat other people's LEFTOVERS this is the place to choose for your lunch or dinner. ENJOY!!!
The waiter was fantastic and great with our little 2 year old. The food was fantastic and our boy ate everything in front of him. The food was delicious and great value. I will recommend to all who come to paphos
Price-performance ratio is okay - but the quality of the food was rather below expectations. I think anyone who is used to good food will be disappointed here.

2022-Food was great quality and the table service was authentic. Our waiter was funny, welcoming and chatty. Prices were slightly above average. Restaurant was busy. Advise booking ahead. Stunning views at nighttime over coral bay to pathos.
2023- we chose to sit outside. Big mistake. Beeping cars saying hello to waiting staff every 5-10 minutes, service was slow, food wasn’t amazing but ok. Really felt like it has gone down hill since our last visit last year. Chocolate sponge cake was microwaved up so much that it went hard. Had to return and swap for ice cream. Cocktails were nice. Kitty cat was friendly.

A very interesting small local restaurant with local food. The staff is great and the food is superb. We will definitely come back..
Amazing place, the restaurant is on top of a steep road with great views, food is very delicious, best value for money, hospitality and service perfect. My family love this place, would highly recommend!!!
