What We Think
We think Ascos Coral Beach Hotel offers a mix of good and bad experiences. The direct access to a private beach is a big plus, allowing guests to enjoy the peaceful Mediterranean waters. The outdoor pool area is excellent for relaxing, though some guests have mentioned it could be cleaner and the sunbeds need updating. The hotel’s location near the lively Coral Bay strip with its bars and restaurants is a highlight.

The entertainment staff is praised for their energy and friendliness, making activities fun for everyone. However, the hotel itself could use some updates, with several guests noting that the rooms and facilities are a bit outdated. Horrible experience ever. Most dirtiest hotel I have ever been. This was not four star would say less then 2 stars. Rooms had mould and they only clean once and that’s cause I gave them 10 euros tip. The food plates were left outside the lobby for days and no one cleaned that table. Pool was not cool at all in 40 degree temperature. The water was warm that u don’t wana stay in for long cause u will feel hot. Inside pool and jacuzzi was so dirty oh my god I didn’t even wanted to put my feet on the floor .sauna and steam room was broken I couldn’t even use it. The pool had mould underneath and few areas broken tiles which is not safe and u can get hurt. The food area was disgusting. I could see ants on the fruit and bread. The food area had no AC, we could smell the sweat in that room all the time. Flies everywhere cause no fan or ac in the food area. Asked them to make something vegetarian and every day the use to say tomorrow and the next day no food for us as we are vegetarian. We paid for half board but could t eat there. We end up going out and spending more money on food. Half board but no free drinks at food times. Not all the Staff was very helpful. Some of them were very rude.the reception sofas were dirty and again no AC in the reception area and lobby.. And the main thing no internet by the pool or in the rooms. I had to come in the reception area every time to make a call and had to connect the internet every time. Never going back in that hotel and please don’t waste your money. I wish I had the option to upload videos then I would show u guys the broken steam room and dirty ness closely.
The only thing I would note is that although the pool is very large it has very limited shallow ends. My partner is over 6ft tall & was only able to stand in about 20% of the pool the rest of the pool was nearly 2 metres deep which is not great if you have kids who are not strong swimmers.
Pros:
- great location, beautiful areas next to the hotel, close to restaurants, beaches and bus stop line 615 from where you can go to Paphos for 2 euros
-great swimming pool complex, lots of sun loungers, always some available
-the outdoor pool is not closed at 6 p.m. like in other resorts, you can swim longer, even at 9 p.m., and no one is thrown out of the pool.
-great drinks, which is really not that obvious on all inclusive, and we've already had a few
-generally nice and helpful staff, mostly speaking Polish
-a great shop in the hall next to the reception, where you can find everything from food to souvenirs, balls, clothes, etc.
-live music evenings every day (various artists)
Minuses:
- the food is average, edible but not crazy
-rooms and In general, the facility has its glory days behind it, but you are not on vacation to sit in a room
-No normal sockets, only British input, so you need an adapter (available in the shop at the reception)
-the indoor pool is disgustingly dirty, not to mention the jacuzzi
- outdoor heated swimming pools, which at 40'C is not a good idea
-no air conditioning in the restaurants, air conditioning in the room works
-bad animations
In general, we rate the holiday as a plus and if someone does not need luxuries, they will be satisfied. For people who like to explore the area, it will be a great base.
Of course, overall, I would say that the service was good value for money, but I still feel a bit cheated.
The photos showed that we would not be arriving at a recently renovated hotel, but I expected better than that.
The hotel is rated 4*, of which I feel it deserves 2.5*.
A 4* hotel cannot afford that the bathtub is eaten by rust, that the entire room is covered by ants (not one or two... hundreds of ants run around the room) and that the room is cleaned properly only once in a week, you ask for cleaning in vain.
Only once in 1 week did we get fresh towels, the ashtray was not emptied.
We were able to reserve the room late on arrival, because it was not possible to clean it until 2 p.m. so that we could take it over, there was nothing to repay/thank us for our patience, not even a free cold drink was offered for the inconvenience.
The air conditioner broke down at the reception, so we waited in the heat for a long time before we could finally take our room.
At the same time, to add something positive, the air conditioning in the rooms works flawlessly, so the time spent there was extremely pleasant.
Unfortunately, the beach belonging to the hotel is very slippery and rocky, but there is a fabulous beach 900m away, where we spent our days.
We had a room reservation with breakfast, I wouldn't say that we ate too much in the hotel, because the breakfast was monotonous and bad!
There were only two young people from the staff who were really nice, they did programs in the yard.
Every evening there was a concert and bingo. Unfortunately, the performers do not have very good vocal abilities, so it was not good to listen to the roar of BINGOOOO at 11 o'clock in the evening 😔
Since we didn't spend a lot of time there, we spent the time on vacation with a good feeling overall, but the only thing I liked about the hotel was the view, the air conditioning and the beauty of the pool (its water was too warm).
We certainly won't be back again
Family with two children.
Outside is better than the inside and the grounds were well kept.
Negatives: We went for 5 days. The room wasn't cleaned, the bedding wasn't changed nor did we get clean towels until I complained - twice. There were also cockroaches in the room.
The food was disgusting and lukewarm and flies kept landing on it all as it wasn't covered.
For a 4* hotel I expected the food to be at least adequate but it truly wasn't.
The entertainment wasn't the best but we were out of season. It is located on the beach but there is no access directly and its very rocky. The indoor pool is even colder than the outside which seemed odd.
The all inclusive drinks don't include Latte, milkshake, hot chocolate etc and u have to pay separately for those.
To keep it's 4* rating it needs completely refurbishing inside and new chefs/food choices.
This hotel needs closing and renovating. The rooms was a joke, asked for a sea view and got given a room looking inwards. The drinks are a joke, can't even enjoy a drink as they get you wasted. Bingo every night ad entertainment. The food was horrific, same miserable food every night. If thinking of booking be warned the coral bay strip is closed and there's nothing else around - you have to travel a distance to look for other things to do. The door keys to your room don't work and the maids ignore the do not disturb sign. My girlfriend also got sick off the food at the hotel. Stay clear
